Kamila Selig, who works in emerging technology, gathered this data about the Analog Revival:
1) US vinyl record sales topped $1.04 billion in 2025, the first time since 1983. And this is the 19th consecutive year of growth for vinyl records.
2) Kodak reports that 35mm film demand doubled between 2021 and 2026.
3) Needlepoint searches are up 251% year-over-year. Sewing patterns searches are up 152%. Visible mending searches are up 144%.
4) Michaels Craft Stores declared 2026 “The Year of Creative Living in the Analog Era.”
5) The Guardian reported that 46% of Gen Z refuse to use A.I. tools at work.
6) The market size for stationery was $3.45 billion in 2025, and projected to grow to $5.12 billion by 2034—a growth rate of 4.8%.
7) The high end pen market is projected to grow 4.6% to 4.8% through 2030.
8) It’s reported that, “42% of high-income consumers are investing in analog writing tools specifically as part of a ‘digital detox’ routine to disconnect from screens.”
