This episode takes off like a rocket with Keturah rocking neutrals and a pop of blue. Side note - when I wear a sweater around my shoulders I feel Too Preppy but Keturah looks easy breezy and cool here. Amy in a skirt I can’t wait to hear about and …… A Man. Hello Julian! We learn that the episode is dedicated to fall pants and skirts. My immediate thought that I will recant later is that, as cute as Julian is, I’m not sure I want to dedicate precious Style Class viewing time to styling men. As in, can’t we have one thing that’s just for us? No boys allowed! That said, Julian is wearing head to toe Tibi and, let’s face it, looks incredible. Okay fine, tell me more Julian.
1:24: Manchester is Not London.
2:43: Julian wears a size small and a 4 in the Triple Pleat pants. I wear an 8.
4:21 Four minutes in, and Julian…..disappears. He can’t take it anymore. Never to be seen again. Hilarity ensues.
The abrupt exit is such a guy move and one that Steve performs on the regular. Right in the middle of dinner while the girls and I chirping away, talking about, say, the Legally Blonde prequel, he will get up from the table and walk upstairs without saying a word.
4:48: Looks like Amy got highlights - lovely!
5:19: Amy is cracking up at Julian’s exit and saying there was a mouse. Wait, was there a mouse? This is why Julian scurried away? We hear him offscreen defending himself while Sloane starts to get creeped out. Julian reappears in a different sweater and it seems that the mouse was a joke. Sloane still looks worried.
Back to business. We learn why Julian’s baby blue sweater was so much better than the darker blue.
P.S. how do we feel about the way he pinned up one side of the triple pleats in the first photo above? Cool, right?
6:51: Amy confirms there is no mouse.
7:29: We learn that these jeans were a favorite in Chicago, Amy’s last stop. Amy says the jeans are most similar to Barry but with a slight bootcut let vs the wider cut of the Barry. Amy calls these a “date jean,” and suggests that wearing them with heels could be described as sexy.
11:50: We are shown different ways of styling these pants including tying them up with the straps of your sandals, which takes you from “wearing jeans” to serving a look. Boom.
12:36: Julian in the same jeans as Sloane and he is again wearing a size 4. Just saying. Also just saying that, awkward exit aside, he seems Very Cool and fits right in. His outfit gets better when he adds a belt and he says he would cut the jeans (!!!!). Hot take.
17:21: Um.
Okay, so we learn that the Double Apron skirt comes in two pieces and the top piece is meant to sit higher on your body than the bottom piece. There are buttons (thank you Traci ❤️) to keep everything tidy. But then you have an intentional gap at what I would call my love handle. Can a non Barbie doll wear this? Amy suggests that you can also wear the top part of the skirt over a dress or pants - kind of a third piece situation. Where is Rachel when we need her?
27:49: For those of us who are love handle gap shy, Amy shows how we can wear a longer top and cover what we will now call “the gap.” Okay, yes! I would wear this and I continue to love Big Pleats.
31:49: Amy is talking about her position that great team leaders must have great personal style and be able to stand their ground in the face of criticism.
Huh.
This sounds very stressful! Are there constant styling controversies/showdowns at Tibi HQ? I mean other than the constant Amy/Traci bickering that results in the genius that is Tibi? The fans want to know.
33:22 Another tonal look from Keturah. These colors are very pretty!
35:07: When asked if he would pair a tennis shoe with whatever cute thing he’s wearing, Julian considers the question and says, “loafers are my tennis shoes.” Me too. Me too. Me too.
37:15: Ooooh these skirts/culottes - the way they move on camera. Love Amy’s color story here.
40:31: Amy suggests this might be something to wear for your kid’s Parents Weekend in college. I would enjoy my daughter’s Parent Weekend much more if I could wear something like this. As it is, I’m given the side eye if I’m not in sneakers and a JMU sweatshirt. More on that here.
THE BOOTS! But why faux leather? And if faux leather, why a price of $785?
44:12: Another stunner of an outfit on Keturah. I continue to be drawn to the jacket and the shoes.
47:50 THIS COAT OMG THIS COAT. Also the ombre loafers. As Amy would say, stupid good. What are these loafers?
51:44 Amy suggests the Crispy Nylon Winslows for country club attire or hotel breakfasts. She remains as relatable as ever 😂.
54:42: These will be mine. They are at the top of my fall wishlist.
This was a good class! I started off grumpy that we had a man on Our Show, but by the five minute mark I was eating out of the palm of his hand and considering a trip to New York for a styling appointment with him. The stand out item for me this week was the two piece skirt. I suspect I will be thinking about it every night this week while I am trying to fall asleep.

I bought myself this scandalous (to me) Skims halter top to wear with my Kamara print skirt and I am delighted to recommend it. If you are considering taking the plunge (ha) and trying a low cut top, this is an affordable option and a very nice brown. I bought the medium. Also pairs beautifully with this skirt if you have it.
Speaking of the Florida wedding events, I wore my beloved strappy Jalouise dress to the wedding and was feeling like a million bucks until I spilled a full glass of champagne on myself while chatting with high school friends I had not seen in two decades. Oof. My best friend Amy, who is the embodiment of Hints from Heloise as well as Personal Style, whisked me off to the bathroom where I took the champagne soaked garment completely off. She held it under the hand dryer for a few minutes while I felt sorry for myself (THIS IS WHY I CAN’T HAVE NICE THINGS) and presto! it was as good as new. Creative Pragmatism at its finest friends.
Still speaking of Florida, I love to shop my friend Amy’s beauty counter (seriously, it’s like a Sephora in her bathroom) when I visit, and I fell in love with this new (to me) Jo Malone scent. I’m usually not a floral perfume girl, but this smells like the beach in the summer.
Have you bought your favorite reissued Gap scent yet? Mine is Grass. $52 to feel like I’m 16 again? Yes, please.
