celebrity street style is back, baby

Jennifer Lawrence’s street style may be the only thing that’ll ever convince me to have a baby. I’m serious. The baby stroller feels like a non-negotiable for some outfits. Her style is a little kooky, it’s a lot expensive, and our girl is no stranger to a hat—from baseball, to bucket, to witch. I mean, if motherhood grants you permission to pair your $2,000 La Ligne coat with a party store witch hat, then that is something I’m going to have to think about.

Celebrity street style has leveled up this year, and as someone who takes great interest in a good street style pic (I have a whole Instagram account dedicated to it), I’m feeling spoiled. And no, I’m not talking about Taylor Swift’s ten steps from her SUV to Chez Margaux. I want to see what celebrities are wearing during their day-to-day, like an A-lister braving the New York City subway or a chic attempt at going incognito at the farmers’ market. It doesn’t take an expert to discern which outfits celebrities style themselves as opposed to the looks put together by their stylists, just a bit of practice. It helps that some celebs do it way better than others, and I am an excellent teacher.

Shock to nobody whatsoever, my usual MVPs are leading the way — starting with Mom of the year (you guessed it), Jennifer Lawrence. My favorite season is Jennifer Lawrence promoting a movie season. She is the embodiment of embracing personal style and keeping the FUN in fashion. Once deemed our quiet luxury queen, over the past couple of years, JLaw has embraced her personal style through unexpected pairings, cozy silhouettes, and a slew of playful accessories. When she’s photographed out in New York, her outfits are far from cookie-cutter, which makes sense considering how much media attention they’re gaining.

Some trends I’m seeing from JLaw’s looks are oversized silhouettes (which I love), sporty influences (also love), pops of color (I’m working on it), unlikely pairings (you know I love), and accessories galore — lots of hats, layered jewelry, and an it-bag or two. To which I say, hooray. Consider myself validated. I am a strong advocate for keeping fashion fun and silly because it is not that serious. I am SICK of wearing the same things all the time, so I’m inspired to channel JLaw, play in my closet, and see what new combos I can come up with.

This winter, I’m thinking thin sweaters layered over t-shirts, a baggy pant, and accessorized to the nines — a long coat, cashmere scarf, pendant necklace, and a flat black boot. The way to keep it personal is by using the items in your own closet instead of going into full-on copycat mode.

This year’s vast collection of street style has also proven that love is most certainly in right now. And it has never been chicer. À la Rihanna pregnancy number one, new couples are taking to the streets to make their relationship announcements and pack on the PDA. I love a good celebrity couple street style moment. Frankly, I live for it. This year has taught us that whatever you’re into—borderline twinning with your partner like Zoë and Harry, or channeling Gigi and Bradley in a way that can only be described as conflicting—both tactics are celebrity-approved.

Of course, my next MVPs have to be none other than this year’s it-couple, Zoë Kravitz and Harry Styles. These two have been on everyone’s radar, whether you like it or not. When that first photo of them together dropped, I texted everyone I know. As always, PR relationships are up to our discretion, so let’s just enjoy this while we can. I personally hope they’re endgame. It’s the romantic in me.

No stranger to this newsletter, our girl has been out and about this year, much like her Lime bike-obsessed beau. There is a noticeable difference between the outfits Zoë styles for herself and the looks professionally coordinated by her stylist. I mean, just look at how cozy she looks in the shots below. I appreciate her and JLaw’s commitment to a casual, oversized look. There’s a level of attainability in the baggy jeans and vintage tees, and it almost feels like we’re getting a glimpse into who these people actually are. Just two cozy gals who own a lot from The Row.

Lawrence and Kravitz are living proof that promoting a new project is not limited to their contractual obligations—movie premieres, late-night shows, press interviews, or photoshoots. Already at the forefront of the public eye, the cameras will follow them just about wherever they go. While some celebs do their best to hide out when they’re off the clock, many are likely to use the media attention to their advantage. Let’s just say I’m not the only one anticipating a Harry Styles album announcement in early 2026.

For my final street style MVP, we have a man giving Mr. Styles a run for his money. While Harry has always fancied himself a fashionista, the style evolution of Joe Keery should be studied in history books. The actor and Djo frontman has debuted a completely new style while promoting Stranger Things’s swan song. If we go back to season one press tours, it’s giving frat boy going to the Spring formal.

Fast forward to today, the man has done a complete 180, exuding a cool, rock-and-roll confidence in skin-tight silhouettes with tousled frosted tips. Yet another example of a celebrity shedding the norms and growing into their personal style. And it just works. My advice for the men? Have fun with your style. Find a celebrity whose style you’re into to give yourself a blueprint, and then make it your own. Also, buy yourself a nice vintage jacket and zip that baby all the way up.

If we have one thing to be thankful for this year, it’s the street style — both in quality and quantity. It is clear that personal style is alive and thriving, and I am glad to see it. I hope you feel validated to buy the funky hat or cosplay as a gothic little red riding hood. And don’t take it from me, the seal of approval comes straight from some of Hollywood’s most stylish. So go, get out there! Frost your tips!

As much as I love seeing couture on a red carpet or a sexy pantsuit on a late-night show, I’m not attending anything that merits that level of glam anytime soon. Nor do I have access to off-the-runway Dior. So, until that day comes, my style inspiration will be pulled from celebs dropping their kids off at school or a good ole Harry Styles/Zoë Kravitz ass-grab. And I’m okay with that.
