Are you on Letterboxd? If not, I suggest you join. It’s a fun way to track what you watch, share your thoughts on films, or read what others write, and perhaps be inspired to watch movies you’d otherwise not know about. One of the fun aspects is the ability for users to create lists of films. I’ve made a bunch, and I want to share a few with you.
Today, I’ve created a list on Letterboxd to track each film I watch for the podcast.
All the Movies: The Master List
Right now, it’s a manageable list, but in time it will grow to include thousands of films. I find large lists like that to be unwieldy, so if, like me, you prefer shorter lists, I’ll continue to create a new list for each year’s worth of films that I watch. Currently there are four such lists.
I’ve also created a list that I call All the Best Movies. Any time I watch a film for the podcast that I think is absolutely brilliant, I add it to that list. As of this moment, I’ve watched 108 films, and 22 of them made the cut for inclusion on that list.
If you haven’t read the word “list” enough yet, I’ll close by reminding you that one of the fun perks for paid subscribers is access to the master list for the podcast. It includes everything I’m planning to watch, in order, and is something I update regularly. It currently includes 4,737 films. I would love to know your feedback on that list, and hear what movies you believe I’ve failed to include. I know it’s missing a lot of great films, and audience feedback is always helpful at filling in those missing pieces.
