she stands on a bridge between worlds leaning on the rails overlooking a body of water hands holding on body bent enough discomfort to trigger the thoughts she closes her eyes and listens a cacophony of sounds fill her ears in this place body and mind live miles apart she lives in the middle thoughts fill her eyes and all that can be seen is trouble trouble trouble eyes open she looks down at the body of water and bows her head to the trees to their roots to her heart she bows and waits for respite gravity opens its arms and the thoughts pour out of her crown they pour out like a dam has been broken they burst into the air into the river of the earth her eyes burn her head burns her heart burns a cleanse a moment respite her head feels lighter she starts to find balance leaning back into her body steady steady steady she looks up the sun shines on her right eye it's tender the sun shines on her left eye her face her hair her heart the warmth cracks through the ice through the old there is more life here now there is more room Grateful.
