(and me!) 💛

It’s no secret — I was an au pair 10 years ago, and it was the best experience of my life.
But let’s be honest: it wasn’t perfect every day.

I remember spending a lot of time thinking about how to make this experience special for the kids. I wanted them to like me, to be excited to see me after school, and also to feel curious and happy to learn my language.

They had long days at school, so I knew it had to be fun and part of everyday life — not like another boring class.

Here are some of the activities I did with them:
✨ Cooking simple recipes together — all in French!
✨ Playing hide and seek at the park
✨ Setting up a tent in the living room and reading books inside
✨ Dancing to fun French songs I loved when I was their age
✨ Playing board games (Uno, Dobble, memory games in French…)

And here’s what I wish I had done too:
🌼 A little picnic-snack in the garden after school in spring
🎨 Crafts with French vocab (colors, animals, seasons)
📸 A photo scrapbook of the week with captions in French
🎭 Role-play games (playing restaurant, post office, school…)
🎵 Singing one French song a week and recording it for fun

These kinds of activities made the kids love our time together — and that’s where real language learning happens: naturally, with joy and connection.

➡️ That’s also exactly the kind of French I teach in my group program for au pairs:
✨ We work on practical French you actually need with your host family
✨ You learn how to understand and talk about everyday life
✨ We prepare for the DELF A1 exam
✨ You connect with other au pairs on the same journey

🗓 The program is 2 hours every Tuesday and Thursday morning — online and full of good vibes.

✨ Curious? You can book a free discovery call here to see if it’s a good fit:

I’d love to support you on your au pair adventure! 💛

Allison
