Weirdly enough when you do some research on Trauma Informed Care (TIC) you’ll find reference to both the Three R’s of TIC and the Four R’s of TIC, and they both represent completely different R words. Confused?
Here’s why I believe one of them is trauma informed and the other is a product of pop psychology (which in theory can still be trauma informed, however it usually lacks nuance and caters to the mainstream).
Lets go straight to the R’s that have my heart. The R’s I find TRULY trauma informed and necessary for the safety of our client/student/child/friend/person in question.
