A note before you begin: This is a longer read than I typically share because it holds some of the foundational thinking behind my work. Give yourself the space to take it in.
Long before I began creating Living Your Truth, I was trained to think like a planner. My degree in Urban Planning taught me to see beyond individual buildings and understand the relationships among people, places, infrastructure, environments, and the systems that allow a city to function.
A school has a purpose and an energy different from a hospital. A fire station provides something different from a grocery store, a neighborhood, a park, or a place of business. Each serves its own purpose, yet none exists independently of everything around it.
Change one part of the city, and something else is affected. From the single pedestrian view, to the collective view, to the systems view, Urban Planning gave me the gift of seeing the whole- and recognizing myself as part of the whole.
UCSD Urban Planning BS- where it all began!
Later, my Feng Shui study and certification expanded the way I understood space, energy, and flow from both residential and corporate perspectives. I began paying attention not only to what was physically present in an environment, but to how energy moved through intentionally designed spaces and influenced the people within them.
But it wasn’t until I began to see my life was architecture, too. And when I did that’s when everything in my life transformed.
I began to see my life through six essential architectural domains: Self, Family, Work, Community, Legacy, and Planet- each distinct, yet none existing independently of the others. Just as I had learned to look beyond an individual structure to understand the larger system it participated in, I began recognizing that there was more influencing what happened within these domains than what I could physically observe.
There was always more operating beneath what I could see.
Within and across these domains were relationships, histories, expectations, emotions, beliefs, patterns, energies, and systems- all carrying information and influencing what might happen next. Some were visible. Others were operating within the invisible fields we participate in every day.
The same is true wherever human beings come together. We enter relationships, families, teams, organizations, and communities through our Human Authentic Intelligence™- the living intelligence informed by our history, energy, perceptions, lived experiences, intuition, and more. We influence these systems while simultaneously being influenced by what is already there.
Over the years, as I studied the Universal Laws and explored how to apply them to my own journey and work with clients, another architecture began coming through me. It gave me a surprisingly simple way to understand something extraordinarily complex: Micro. Macro. Meta.
At its simplest, I see these as three interconnected scales through which our Human Authentic Intelligence™ participates in life. MICRO is the intelligence of me- my individual living intelligence and energetic presence as I meet the moment.
MACRO is the intelligence between us. It is what emerges when my Human Authentic Intelligence™ enters relationship with the Human Authentic Intelligence™ of one or more others.
META is the intelligence throughout the larger system and field in which we are participating- a family, organization, community, lineage, industry, or even the planet. Because systems participate within larger systems, Meta can continue expanding beyond what we can immediately see.
They aren’t separate levels we graduate through. They are simultaneously interacting with and influencing one another.
Everything is co-influencing everything else. In real time.
This is an image from years back when I first began to see it as living systems architecture.
Coherence can exist throughout this architecture, but coherence is not the architecture itself. We can experience greater or lesser degrees of personal coherence, social coherence, and field coherence. This is what I have come to think of as Coherent Relational Architecture, and it has become central to my Evolutionary Point of View.
Understanding this also changed the way I understood my own transformation. Like many people committed to personal growth, I spent years looking within because I wanted to heal, transform, evolve, and create a life that reflected more of who I knew I could become.
That inner work mattered deeply. As I shared in my last article, I eventually understood that if I wanted my life to change, I had to go first. But going first was never the same as going alone.
The life you imagine is personal. The life you create is relational.
This is one of the distinctions I believe is missing from many of the ways we’ve traditionally approached life design. We are encouraged to envision what we want for our health, relationships, family, work, finances, lifestyle, purpose, and future- and there is tremendous value in doing that. But imagining the future is only part of creating it.
A city planner wouldn’t design the future of a city by considering one structure in isolation. The planner has to understand how that structure relates to and participates within a much larger living system. Our lives are no different.
The relationships we nurture affect who we become, while the relationships that nourish us support who we are becoming. The environments and structures we inhabit can nourish our wellbeing and expand what feels possible- or create friction with the life we’re trying to create. Our choices enter relationships and systems that existed before us and may continue long after us.
This is why I no longer think conscious evolution can be understood only as an individual journey. We need to know ourselves, develop Self Authority, understand what we value, and become conscious of the energetic signature we bring into our lives.
“We’re not merely designing what our future looks like. We’re consciously participating in creating the relationships, environments, and systems capable of nourishing the life we envision.”
And then we enter relationship. We bring our VIBE (Vibration, Intuition, Breath, and Embodiment) everywhere, everyday, every minute. We bring it into a marriage, family dinner, meeting, leadership decision, difficult conversation, friendship, organization, or community. Our energetic signature enters with us, becoming part of the relational intelligence emerging between us.
The Human Authentic Intelligence™ of others meets ours. Our Human Authentic Intelligence™ doesn’t stop at the boundary of the individual; it enters every relationship, environment, and system with us.
Suddenly, architecting the future isn’t simply about deciding what I want and taking enough actions to get there. It becomes a conscious practice of understanding how we participate in creating what emerges.
This is also why coherence matters. Personal coherence influences how I enter a relationship. Social coherence changes what may become possible between us. Together, we participate within systems and fields that can reflect greater or lesser degrees of coherence- or states of non-coherence.
The invisible currents move in every direction.
And this brings us back to You Go First. It doesn’t mean you are responsible for managing or changing every person, relationship, environment, or system around you. Nor does it mean your energetic state controls what happens next.
It means your conscious participation is the part of the relational evolutionary system you can begin with. You can become conscious of the energy you bring, the signature imprint you leave, and how you choose to participate in what is unfolding while recognizing that you are part of something larger than yourself.
This is why Architect Your Future is the fourth promise of Living Your Truth and an essential part of the Living Your Truth Evolutionary System. We aren’t simply imagining a future and attempting to force the present to comply with it. We are learning to consciously participate in the living architecture through which that future is continually emerging.
The SŌL Blueprint gives us a map of where this participation is happening. The six architectural domains I’ve been describing are what I call the Relational Domains. They aren’t isolated categories to perfect; they are interconnected domains of life within which Micro, Macro, and Meta are continually operating.
The context changes, but the architecture of participation remains. The Blueprint gives us a way to see not only the life we envision, but the relationships, systems, and invisible fields through which that life is actually being lived, influenced, and created.
Perhaps that is the invitation: to begin seeing your life not as a collection of separate areas to manage, but as a living, relational architecture you are already participating in and influencing every day.
You don’t have to understand or control the architecture to begin. Become curious about the intelligence of you, the intelligence between us, and the intelligence throughout the larger system and field.
You Go First.
And if you’re ready to go beyond noticing- to learn, practice, and deepen your relationship with your Human Authentic Intelligence™ and the relational architecture of the life you’re creating- that is what we’re doing together inside the Living Your Truth Lab.
