Prayer
Almighty God, you have built your Church upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone: Grant us so to be joined together in unity of spirit by their teaching, that we may be made a holy temple acceptable to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. (Book of Common Prayer)

Reflection
Jesus disembarks from the boat. He can not escape from the throngs. He arrives. There is no trump sound. He does not wear royal robes. But tired feet, move toward him carrying the lame, the sick, who no one remembers. They do not seek honors. They desire to touch the hem of his garment. Perhaps brush against him hoping to be healed.' Faith does not require certainty. Mercy is granted while fear threatens. Of course, nobody can boast of fearless faith: but they leave never the same again. They are whole, perhaps for the first time. Sometimes healing takes place when pride is put to the side, Where empty hands finally dare to reach out in hope in order to touch the One who has already reached out to us.
PRAYER: Keep, O Lord, your household the Church in your steadfast faith and love, that through your grace we may proclaim your truth with boldness, and minister your justice with compassion; for the sake of our Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. (Book of Common Prayer)
