‘Twas the week before Eclipsemas,
And all through the sky
The Nodal Axis was stirring.
I fear I might cry!
…and it’s okay if you do! Because Eclipse Season—and the days leading up to it—are filled with such raw power and intensity, the energetics can be incredibly overwhelming. But this week, we’re presented with some very abundant opportunities to establish strong and powerful alignments before the topsy-turvy destiny-churning begins. This is a week for serious contracts, commitments, and relationships… are you ready to sign on the dotted line? Let’s discuss!

Chiron Retrograde in Taurus
Well, that was fast. Just a few weeks after Chiron, the wounded healer, entered Taurus for the very first time since the 1970s, it decided it had enough of this fixed Earth energy. It’s going retrograde, and planning its escape back into Aries—hey, I get it! Chiron has been in Aries since 2017; by now, it’s a territory it knows well.
As Chiron stations retrograde in Taurus, it’s a reminder about the slow nature of healing. There are some areas of life that we need to move quickly, but self-actualization is not one of them. Likewise, retrogrades aren’t just about moving backward; they’re about spending a bit more time learning to love the prickly parts. That, too, is part of the process.
Venus Enters Libra
Home at last! This week, Venus moves into Libra—one of the signs it governs (the other being Taurus)—where beauty becomes an art form. Expect new perspectives on friendships, partnerships, collaborations—along with plenty of a negotiations, contracts, and first dates (or fifth dates).
One of my favorite ways to think about Venus in Libra is that every relationship is a deal. Every dynamic has terms and conditions, whether they’re explicit or implicit. Likewise, this transit encourages you to read the fine print: Are your relationships reciprocal? Do they reflect your values? Are you investing your energy where it’s genuinely appreciated?
The right partnership won’t make you smaller. It’ll give you more room to blossom into yourself. If you need to back-and-forth on some deal points, so be it. Libra is all about the scales of justice, so don’t be afraid to play lawyer.
Sun Trine Saturn
The very same day, the Sun and Saturn have a very important meeting on the calendar. It’s giving executive lunch. It’s giving board meeting. It’s giving one very charismatic creative director sitting across the table from one very experienced CEO.
The Sun, blazing through Leo, walks in wearing something fabulous, carrying a vision, a dream, a pitch deck assembled five minutes before the meeting. “Here’s what I want to create,” the Sun says. “Here’s what I think is possible.”
And, this is quite unusual, but—shockingly!—Saturn in Aries doesn’t roll its eyes or try to dim the Sun’s light. Quite the opposite. Saturn says, “I believe you. Now let’s make a plan.” Tea!!!
That’s what makes this trine so special. Saturn isn’t here to shame you out of your dreams; Saturn wants to help you create systems, structure, and boundaries to support them. It wants you to think about what happens after the launch, after the applause, after the excitement wears off. Because if this vision is really meant for you, then it deserves a foundation strong enough to last.
This is beautiful astrology for making commitments—to a creative project, a business, a relationship, or even yourself. To work with this energy means you’re finally prepared to believe in it enough to do the work.
Mercury Enters Leo
And finally, after spending an unusually long stretch in Cancer (no) thanks to its retrograde, Mercury (the planet of communication) finally waltzes into Leo—and suddenly, the volume goes all the way up. Let’s get loud!
This is one of my favorite Mercury placements because it reminds us that communication isn’t only about exchanging information. It’s about self-expression. Making people laugh! Giving an amazing toast! Pitching a wild idea! If you’ve been over-editing yourself, this transit offers a welcome correction. Your voice isn’t an inconvenience; it’s one of the ways your spirit introduces itself to the world.
What does it mean for YOU?
I’m THRILLED to announce my ~official~ partnership with TimePassages, my absolute favorite astrology app and desktop software. And I have an exclusive discount code just for paid subscribers to The Practice :)
TimePassages is a family-owned and operated business, with its original software and content first coded in the 1980s by astrologer Henry Seltzer. His lovely son, Asia, is now in charge, and it’s just such a pleasure working with this magical astrology family.
And also I can’t even really begin to express how GROUNDBREAKING it was for Henry to be creating birth chart software 40 years ago; prior to that, astrologers had to render charts by hand! LONG STORY SHORT: I love TimePassages! I only use TimePassages! I’ve only ever used TimePassages! And it’s my honor to share their magic with you!
