The viral rumor about an alleged look-alike - if not a clone - of Jim Carrey who supposedly attended and delivered a speech at this year’s César Awards in France is a sign of our times. Beyond tech paranoia, it reveals a deeper anxiety: no longer owning the exclusivity of one’s own story. Having to prove you’re an authentic human, and not an AI or a deepfake, becomes almost existential. Our biographies are increasingly battered by our relationship with technology. It is within this tension that the notion of biotechronicity takes root: the gradual resynchronization of our lives to digital time regimes.
