We all know that entrepreneurship is a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

There is the disappointment that you feel when a launch doesn’t go the way you hoped it would.

There is a burst of excitement that comes with working on a new project.

And a huge sense of pride when you receive a new direct deposit notification.

But you know what emotion I feel is the absolute worst? The feeling of being stuck. Because even though you know without a shadow of a doubt that you want to pivot or build a new business, you still struggle to move forward. It’s the frustration of knowing that there is something bigger that you want to build, but you have no clue what your thing is, let alone where to start.

I’ve spent many years working directly with all different types of entrepreneurs who were irritated with the feeling of being stuck. Entrepreneurs who had a ton of ideas but weren’t sure which idea was worth their focus.

Entrepreneurs who were ready to pivot into something new but couldn’t narrow down what.

And entrepreneurs who have a gut feeling that they are meant for something bigger, but what?

When I closed up my coaching business, I knew that season of my life was over, and I knew that, in some capacity, I wasn’t completely done with running my own business. I just wasn’t clear what I was meant to do next.

At that point in my life, I had run all different types of businesses. I made and sold jewelry, I was a lifestyle blogger, I coached other bloggers, I wrote books, I created courses, and memberships, etc. Even though I was starting to feel like I had run out of options, there was still this deep desire to build a new business that was bigger than myself.

So I went back to an exercise that I used to work through with my coaching clients who felt stuck on what they wanted to do in their business.

The Sweet Spot exercise is a simple exercise that helps entrepreneurs to figure out their brand’s focus based on their interests, skills, and what they are passionate about.

This exercise isn’t to help you figure out what you want to do for the rest of your life; it’s to give you a good starting point and move you from feeling stuck to taking action.

Here’s how the exercise works. (You’re going to need some paper for this)
