The recent venomous diatribe unleashed by The Intercept against the Mujahedin-e Khalq (PMOI/MEK), the foremost opposition force and the vanguard of Iran's pro-democracy movement, transcends mere journalistic malpractice – it represents an egregious assault on the very principles of human decency and ethical journalism.

Let's not mince words when it comes to The Intercept’s outstanding credibility! This rag of a publication, notorious for its anarchist leanings and disdain for democratic principles, has demonstrated time and again its bias against any movement that threatens the oppressive status quo in Iran. Its cultish animosity towards the Iranian opposition movement is not just glaring; it reeks of moral bankruptcy and stale ideology.

This piece also found a platform on Responsible Statecraft, which, in reality, should be dubbed Irresponsible Appeasementcraft, led by none other than the regime's infamous mouthpiece in Washington, Trita Parsi, infamous for his lobbying in favor of the clerical regime.

Labeling the MEK as a "former terrorist organization" is to regurgitate the repugnant propaganda of a desperate regime steeped in misogyny and terrorism, responsible for the senseless slaughter of countless innocent civilians, including women and children.

The regime’s propaganda piercing through the anarchists’ tabloid conveniently sidesteps numerous court rulings across Europe and the US, which unequivocally debunked such allegations, condemning them as politically motivated and devoid of factual basis. The unanimous decision to delist the MEK came after an exhaustive judicial review by America’s second highest court, the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, spanning almost 15 years, where no credible evidence supporting its inclusion on terror lists was found. Today, it's only the faltering regime that brands the MEK's activities as "terrorism," using it as a flimsy pretext for their inhuman acts of incarceration, torture, terrorism, assassination attempts, and extrajudicial executions.

It seems The Intercept’s juvenile journos are cozily ensconced in an ideological straitjacket, feverishly churning out cult-like drivel in a desperate bid to feel relevant, but they end up drowning in their own puddle of inflated egos.

Throughout history, countless proud instances illustrate European or American figures standing alongside freedom fighters battling tyranny worldwide. Just as they supported South African freedom fighters against the apartheid regime, those who stand with the MEK today uphold the ideals of liberty and justice for the Iranian people.

Responsible journalists are the guardians of truth, entrusted with the solemn duty of illuminating reality without bias or agenda. They stand against the darkness of misinformation, never to be co-opted as mouthpieces for tyranny.

The insidious propaganda espoused by The Intercept's fringe anarchists poses a dire threat to democratic and fact-based discourse. They only empower Tehran's religious fascists.
