Marbella Club Hotel has been saved in my notes app for years as a place to go with kids. Marbella Club was an iconic destination in the 1960s where celebrities and royalty would flock to. Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor, Lady Di, Sean Connery, and various princes and dukes all flocked there.
Finca Cortesin had also been saved, since it was the sister property to our favorite from summer, Hotel Son Net. It's an alternative in the same area, in the southern region of Andalusia, Spain called Costa Del Sol. A few of you recommended it as a honeymoon destination or a place to visit with older kids.
As someone who does love exploring the coast of Spain and Spanish culture, we were intrigued to visit this much-talked-about area. As we centered this trip around Tangier, Morocco, this felt like the no-brainer extension to tack on and do both. Full Tangier guide here!
Now, did we love this part of the trip? My honest thoughts? No, not really.
It’s not to say we didn’t have a fabulous time, I had plenty of fabulous outfits to wear against beautiful backdrops. It’s just we didn’t quite get the hype of the place - specifically either hotel. We frequently looked at each other (by that I mean Chase and me) and would ask ourselves, ‘this is it?’
