Reinventing Myself - Again

I know I have not posted in a while. To be honest, I’ve been struggling with my transition to writing. I knew it would be hard, delving into writing as a potential next step in my life, but I am learning how hard it is.

Reinvention is a messy business. Here is what I know so far. One, I am over corporate technology. After being out of the game for over a year, I have no desire to go back to working on corporate tech. The passion for that is gone.

The only tech I really have any interest in is the stuff that is useful to me. Self hosted stuff, privacy stuff, anything I can run myself. I also really like open source software and projects based on open source software.

Being able to look at the code, and tweak the code for my own use is awesome. Maybe my changes help someone else, but if it helps me, that’s enough.

I also am intrigued with the idea of coming up with my own apps to use for things I need, tools to make my life easier and more productive. I already have a couple of ideas I’m working on, but no spoilers…yet.

I have been fairly open about my feelings on AI. There is a lot of hype and fear-mongering. I am not on either end of the AI bandwagon. However, I have found the technology itself interests me. With that, I’m working on learning AI. My goal is to create my own, self-hosted models.

As for my writing, sorry for the lack of posts. I have been writing, but am too self-critical of my work. So it sits in my drafts folder, collecting digital dust, me afraid to post something that is not “perfect”.

Nothing is perfect, and thinking it can be is just an excuse. I’ve allowed resistance to manifest as perfectionism. Enough of that nonsense. I am going to go back to posting daily, whatever I feel like talking about.

It’s back to documenting the journey instead of waiting for the final product. I hope you are willing to stick around for ride?
