My friends…

I’ll die on this hill:

Webinars are THE BEST way to sell your products or services!!

Like, literally…

There is NO BETTER WAY to showcase what you’re knowledgeable about, bring your products/services to life, and connect with your potential buyers on a whoooole other level.

And it doesn’t matter what you’re selling.
Webinars are a true gem in any industry or niche.

Whether you’re selling a $20 monthly subscription or a multi-million-dollar software solution, the approach I recommend is always the same:

Nobody wants to be invited to a pitch-show. Make sure attendees get value from the session no matter if they end up buying or not.

That way you don’t feel bad about hammering your ICPs (Ideal Customer Persona) with your webinar invitation.

If they’re interested in what you’re doing, then it’s literally like Christmas came early.

That’s what builds trust and credibility.
Plus, you get to answer questions from potential buyers right in the moment.

That’s the part where you sell.

Give away the insights, the context, the depth of the matter for free.

What steps to take next, how to truly implement the learnings, how to transform your life… THAT’S what your ICPs then get the chance to pay for.

Anyone truly serious about taking action will jump on the opportunity.

Everyone else?

You’ve just delivered a ton of value, built trust, and nicely kept them warm until the timing is right.

The most challenging aspect of running a webinar is getting people to attend.

It’s no fun putting in all the effort to run a webinar and you only have 5 people show up. 😵‍💫

Without blowing my own trumpet too much (I totally do), my webinars have consistently pulled 1,000+ registrations, 500+ live attendees and thousands of replay views.

And my last one was no exception:

  • 14,595 video views

  • 171 saves

  • And it was one of the key levers during the promo of my first-ever LinkedIn cohort (which generated close to $120k. NUTS!! Now you see why I looove webinars so much!)

Therefore, for today’s article, I’ve decided to walk you through the exact promotional playbook I use to promote my webinars.

Alongside a day-by-day checklist you can nicely follow when you’re about to launch your next (or first?! 👀) live session.

Running a live webinar is SCARY!!! 😵‍💫

Trust me. I’ve done countless webinars and I STILL have the same thoughts before I go live:

  • What if nobody shows up?

  • What if I stumble over my words?

  • What if the tech fails me?

  • What if someone asks a question I can’t answer?

  • Who the heck am I to teach people about XYZ?!

If any of those thoughts are running through your head, remember this:

There will ALWAYS be someone who knows more than you.
That doesn’t mean there aren’t hundreds of people who would LOVE to learn what you already know.

A dodgy mic. A slide that refuses to load.
You forgetting what you were about to say.

It still happens to me ALL. THE. TIME!!!

Nobody is born a webinar guru.
You get better by doing them.

Seriously.

“Great question. I actually don’t know the answer to that, but let me find out and get back to you.”

Done.

That builds waaaay more trust than making up some awkward waffle on the spot.
We can all smell the bullsh*t!!

Public speaking consistently ranks among our biggest fears.
If you lose your train of thought, take a deeeeep breath. You’ll be fine. Everything’s fiiiine.

And if you’re REALLY nervous, just tell people:

“Guys, I’m nervous because I really want to make this valuable for you.”

That doesn’t make you look incompetent.
It makes you HUMAN!!
And hoomans connect with hoomans.

Firstly, they now get a far more personal experience with you. Lucky them!!

Secondly, if you’re running a LinkedIn Live, plenty of your views can come from the replay afterwards.

And thirdly…

If you follow the playbook below and invite the RIGHT people, you can absolutely get bums on virtual seats, regardless of whether you have 500 or 50,000 LinkedIn followers!!

So pleeeease don’t let fear stop you from pressing that GO LIVE button.

Your first webinar might be messy.
Your tenth will be better.

But you’ll never get to your tenth if you don’t run your first!! 🙏🏻

Alrighti. Pep talk over.

Let’s dive in!!

These are the 7 steps I take on LinkedIn each time I promote my webinars:

Because what comes next is the FULL blueprint behind my webinar promos, and I’m keeping that exclusively for my paid Substack members.

It’s £19.99/month.

And if you have a launch coming up, I genuinely think this could be the best £19.99 you spend preparing for it.
Follow the blueprint, and I’m convinced you’ll make that money back teeeeenfold.
