If you asked me how I’d spend the perfect weekend in San Francisco, I’d send you this.

Rather than trying to put together a comprehensive city guide (which feels impossible in a city with this many gems), think of this as my personal weekend itinerary—the places I return to again and again. The coffee shop I'll happily go out of my way for, the museums and neighborhood walks (those Pacific Heights views never get old), where I love taking my kids (that's enjoyable for me too), a date-night gem, and the boutiques I never skip.

The Quick List / If You Only Have One Weekend In SF:

Stay: The Huntington Hotel

Morning: Grab a coffee at Saint Frank, then wander through Nob Hill before heading over to Fillmore and Sacramento Streets for shopping and one of my favorite Pacific Heights neighborhood walks. The homes! The view!

Lunch: Cotogna and shopping in Jackson Square

Afternoon: Wander through the Presidio for some of the best views in the city. If you’re with little kids, head to Tunnel Tops. If art is more your speed, spend a couple of hours at SFMOMA, Berggruen Gallery across the street, or head to the de Young.

Dinner: Octavia for a date night, or Foreign Cinema if you’re with the family.

Don't miss: A pastry from Tartine or Arsicault, shopping along Sacramento Street (McMullen is a must, and The Future Perfect is always worth a visit for design inspiration), and catching the Golden Gate Bridge at golden hour.
