I can easily fixate on things—looks I want to recreate (see below), ideas, books. God bless my husband, who has to listen to me rehash most of it… and my girlfriends, too. I know I’m late to the conversation, but Strangers was basically all I talked about on my neighborhood walks this weekend—with anyone who would listen. ;P

Little luxuries and feel-good things…

Like treating myself to regular spray tans?! I got one for Mexico and, gosh, I just felt so much better in my clothes. I went and got another one for my upcoming trip to Charleston and New York this week—two brand shoots—and honestly, this might be my thing this summer. If you’re pale like I am, a little color just feels so darn good. I’ll take the confidence boost!

If not, I do love a little at-home self-tan and find this foam to be the easiest and basically foolproof. And for the face...

From a sweet blouse — to wear with denim or a skirt — to a lounge short set for around the house and reading in the sunshine.

Gorgeous cotton-twill twisted top — if you’re not a ruffle person.

Floral leather top (perfection over denim or a skirt) — I still think about this collection that Toteme did and was excited to see it on The Outnet now!!

Chic black summer sandals (you know my love for A.Emery and this suede pair is perfection from their new collection). Besides my Kinto, this style will be on repeat.

Soaking up the weekend sunshine…

This weekend’s sunshine felt like a preview of all the backyard hangs to come. We grilled, took long walks and bike rides (my kids are officially free-riding around the neighborhood now, while my husband and I trail behind). I’m really loving this newer phase of motherhood—the small pockets of time that almost feel like you’re reconnecting with an old version of yourself … like sneaking in a walk-date with my husband… what a treat! … even if R & W are just three blocks ahead! ;P

We opened our spring shipment of Scribe—Pinot Noir with steaks is a must—and the kids were in and out of the pool all weekend. I lived in this breezy summer dress.

I’m finishing up today’s post while simultaneously packing for Charleston and New York this week for two brand projects I’m really excited about. I’m sure you can guess who I’m visiting in Charleston—Jane Pope again! I can’t wait to see her, and then it’s on to New York through the weekend.

I finished Strangers, and wow—it was hard to put down. Wild, heartbreaking, and eye-opening. It had me thinking a lot about friends walking through grief—losing parents and loved ones—and I also enjoyed reading about her life in New York.

Side Note | I still often think about how much I’d like to live in New York again, this time with kids, just to see what that version of life would feel like. If you’ve lived in New York — do you think we will always feel this way?! Even if so happy and content where you are.

Grounding feminine pieces with darker accessories…

I already shared this look—but it’s been swirling in my head and I wanted you to really visualize it (see… I fixate). But also, it’s one you can easily recreate with pieces you probably already have, in any colorway or print.

I’m always drawn to that balance when I wear more feminine pieces—the skirt gives that dose of spring with its lace and ruffle details, while the top and black sandals / sunglasses ground the whole look. And I especially love the length of the top paired with the skirt. Or over a pant / jean.

Also on repeat in my mind:

Celine’s box bag—and that more structured, rectangular shape—has been on my mind. I originally went to the Celine event last week planning to check out the saddle bag, but plot twist: I left thinking about something completely different. I can’t stop thinking about the square, more structured styles from the collection… and the Nano colors. So good! Someone stop me.

But since you’re my people, I’ll admit it—I’ll be in New York this week and can absolutely see myself popping into the store for another try-on.
