(6/12/26): “The Doctor Israel Banned After 40 Years in Gaza’s Hospitals Speaks out!” Dr. Mads Gilbert is a colleague, a Norwegian anesthesiologist, humanitarian, activist, & politician who has worked for 40 years in Gaza. He is outspoken on the importance of boycotting the Israeli Medical Association due to its silence on the devastation in Gaza.
(6/23/26): A group of Texas protesters at an immigration detention facility were convicted of terrorism and conspiracy charges and received unusually harsh sentences of 50 to 100 years in prison. This is a very dangerous precedent for protestors against immigration policy going forward, in what was considered a test case of the Trump administration’s efforts to crack down on dissent, blaming “antifa terrorists” and concocting an accusation about an “antifa cell”. These sentences far exceed the sentences for the real threats to our country who attacked the capital on January 6.
(6/23/26): “We Are Not Numbers launches 19th cohort of writers” I work on the management team of We Are Not Numbers and as the mentor coordinator, matching young Gazan writers with published English speaking writers. I am thrilled to announce that the training program is again in full swing after being suspended due to the genocide. During that time, WANN continued to accept pitches and match writers to mentors and to publish stories and poems. The re-establishment of the training program will give this cohort an excellent education and stronger skills to be compelling writers with critical stories the world needs to hear.
(6/24/26): “Percentage saying US too supportive of Israel at all-time high in new poll” This is a serious development, especially coming at a time when almost half of US voters are opposed to current US support of Israel. Call your Congresspeople to demand they reject expansion of US-Israeli military cooperation! The National Defense Authorization Act is authorizing a melding of the US-Israeli military-industrial complex, including co-production of weapons, AI coordination, & more, which will make US military support for Israel almost impossible to end.
