Taurus Season Monthly Forecast

Happy Taurus season!

After making it past the tense aspects that happened at the very end of Aries season, as Mercury and Mars met up with Neptune and then Saturn in Aries, I’m expecting Taurus season to be relatively calmer. This year’s Taurus season is also interesting, because there’s a lot happening astrologically at the very start, and then a lot happening at the very end, with not much in the in between. So you could notice the most action taking place in your life during the last week of April and then the third week of May.

As usual, I will first be going over all of the major transits happening this Taurus season before paid subscribers can then read on to find out what everything means for their rising sign. The podcast version of the monthly transits is also available to listen to below.

The main underlying theme for the month ahead is that the Sun is moving through Taurus from April 19 - May 20. (April 20 - May 21 for time zones ahead of the U.S.). I love Taurus season, because it’s geared toward pleasure and indulging your five senses. It’s a great time for doing a bit of shopping, having fun with cooking or trying out new restaurants, getting out into nature, and treating yourself to self care type activities. I associate Taurus with feeling more connected to your physical body and finding ways to get more grounded in your everyday life. So you can apply these themes to the area of life represented by the Taurus ruled house of your chart.

Right at the start of Taurus season, the Sun in Taurus will come into a square with Pluto on April 25. So in the couple days surrounding this date, there may be a situation you’re obsessing over or trying to control a bit too much. It will be important to trust that what’s meant to happen will, and this may also be a period of shedding any mindsets or situations that aren’t working for you anymore. You could get the urge to swiftly cut something out of your life that is holding you back or transform a certain pattern for the better.

We also start off Taurus season with Mars and Mercury both still in Aries, coming off of the conjunction they just made with Saturn. Mercury will remain in Aries until May 2, and Mars will stay there for almost all of Taurus season, until May 18. So you may experience a push pull type energy of wanting to slow down with the Sun in Taurus, but then getting impatient or feeling like something needs to happen already with Mercury and Mars in Aries. You may also be in the planning stages of a new project or opportunity, and you’re ready to initiate something in your life.

Venus moves into Gemini on April 24, followed the next day by Uranus entering Gemini on April 25. Uranus entering Gemini is a huge deal, as it will remain in this sign until 2033. Over the next seven years, you can expect to see a series of changes, as well as sudden, likely unexpected developments occur in the Gemini ruled house of your chart. You may feel urged to break free from anything that feels restricting there too. And having Venus enter Gemini from April 24 - May 18 will just serve to amplify this Uranus transit a bit more in its first few weeks in this part of your chart. So just take note of how things start to move more quickly there once we get to the end of April. You may also be learning new subjects or figuring out how to communicate your ideas and creativity in different ways.

May 1 brings a full moon in Scorpio, happening at 11 degrees. So the lead up to the start of May will likely be the busiest period out of the next month, as you wrap up projects, hear back about opportunities, or schedule plans with people. However, with the moon in this more introspective sign of Scorpio, you may feel called to heal emotions about something that’s been bothering you or transform a certain mindset or habit you’ve outgrown - kind of similar to what we just went over with the Sun squaring Pluto just a few days before. In addition, you might be favoring deeper connections in relationships over more surface level social interactions around this May 1 time frame.

The ruling planet of the full moon is Mars, still in Aries, although in a much easier position than it was in back at the new moon in Aries in the middle of April. Mars will also be applying to a square with Jupiter in Cancer, so I expect this full moon to be about taking action and having more energy to put towards new endeavors, instead of feeling frustrated or slowed down. You may also be traveling around this time, or you could be more interested in spirituality or educating yourself on a specific subject.

The day after the full moon, Mercury will move into Taurus from May 2 - May 17. As Mercury joins the Sun in this sign, you may be more patient in your thinking, and you could be planning a project or opportunity out carefully rather than trying to rush the process. You may also be interested in learning about Taurus related themes like nature, gardening, cooking, fashion, or finances.

Then we skip a couple of weeks before we get another flurry of activity happening in the last few days of Taurus season. There will be a new moon in Taurus on May 16 at 25 degrees. In the days right before May 16, you may feel lower energy as you reflect and prepare for what comes next in the Taurus ruled house of your chart. In the days that immediately follow the 16th, note how new opportunities begin to take hold or you may have various projects or partnerships arise. There will be more positive momentum backing whatever you’re starting in the second half of May. The new moon will be conjunct Mercury in Taurus, so you may also be tending to communication based work, like writing, presentations, or social media content. It could be that you’re handling numerous calls or scheduling meetings too, or you may simply be running into people and taking care of numerous errands. This Sun-Mercury cazimi goes exact on May 14, so see if these themes involving communication surface even a couple of days before the new moon takes place.

The ruling planet of the new moon is Venus, which will be in Gemini at this time. So you could notice greater activity being brought up in the Gemini ruled house of your chart at this time too, or a positive opportunity may pop up there. I want to say that this new moon will be more social than a new moon usually is, just because of the Mercury conjunction and the ruling planet being in Gemini. So I would schedule plans with people, get some writing done, brainstorm ideas, etc right around this time.

Plus, Mercury moves into Gemini and meets up with Uranus there on May 17, so there’s going to be more outreach and connection with people happening closer to the very end of Taurus season. Mercury moving into the sign of its rulership will be great, and you could find yourself overwhelmed with new ideas that you want to pursue in the coming weeks. If you’ve felt stuck on what type of content to create or have been craving more social connection, I would expect these areas to go through a positive shift at this time.

Right before Mars leaves Aries, it will conjunct Chiron on May 16, so another theme that may pop up close to the new moon is one of healing certain insecurities and speaking up when you are upset about something, instead of letting it fester. Mars shifts out of Aries and into Taurus on May 18. Mars doesn’t do that well in Taurus, but honestly it will be nice to have it finally move away from Chiron, Saturn and Neptune - all very difficult planets. You may not be as pressed to accomplish a ton of work or see immediate results once Mars enters Taurus. Instead, you could be focusing on what tasks and activities feel right to you and are enjoyable to do. Looking at your individual chart, note how you may want to make a decision or take greater action in the Taurus ruled house.

Yet another planet changes signs right at the end of Taurus season, as Venus moves into Cancer on May 18 - June 13. This Venus transit will shift your creative focus toward the Cancer ruled house of your chart for a few weeks, and you may also be prioritizing your family relationships a bit more. It could be that you get the desire to decorate your home or clean and organize your space around this time too. I was already planning to decorate my baby’s nursery right in this window, without realizing Venus would be in Cancer!

Let’s now get into what all of this means for each rising sign!
