After meeting Beth Malow at a Vermont Town and City Management Association Braver Angel’s workshop last month, we not only brainstormed some ways for me to get more involved with Braver Angels, but talked a lot about how people engage with what’s around them (Beth is a neurologist after all).
This is a topic I’ve come across from many different angles, and we thought it would be fun for me to write a post on the Substack she co-hosts with Doug Teschner, who used to serve in the legislature in New Hampshire and who I met while Town Manager in Hanover.
Check out the article “Reclaiming Focus in a Connected World” on their Substack, and reflect on a few relatively easy ways to get some agency back in how you use devices, and hopefully give you more space to focus, think, and have capacity for making change in the world around us.
