Molly and I have left our little life in England for a holiday in France and Spain, visiting old friends in the Basque Country and tiki-touring a little further afield, with Zippy being tested to his limits along the way.

We left our friends in Hondarribia and drove on to a campground in Laredo. It was by the River Treto estuary and had a dog friendly beach. We found out why when I walked around it at low tide. It was dirty, and not because of dogs… I’m glad I didn’t swim with my head below the water. Neither did Molly. At least dogs were allowed on the cleaner main beach in town before 9 am.
We noticed a lot of differences between the campground in Spain and ones we had stayed at in New Zealand (I don’t have much experience of camping in England—my parents are not fans of being under canvas)…
