People say you can use an AI bot to write your college essay. And you can do this in the “comfort” of your own home, without interacting with a soul (and without doing any real soul-searching yourself). To this, we say, “Yuck. No thanks.”
We’re pushing back against this.
Is it less convenient? Yes.
Does it cost us more money? Yes.
Is it worth it? We say, “Absolutely!”
So the Throughline team is hitting the road, hosting writing workshops around the country. We’re doing the hard, but necessary and fulfilling work, of sitting beside students - as they sit beside each other - as they bare their souls in these written statements about their lived experiences.
