This week, the national average gas price has spiked to $4.50 per gallon, a 50% increase since the beginning of Trump’s war in Iran. But Americans aren’t just paying for the war at the gas pump — the first two months have already cost taxpayers $72 billion.

Still, Trump wants even more. Despite the Pentagon failing its last 8 consequtive audits, the administration is demanding an increase to the defense budget to $1.5 TRILLION. That’s PER YEAR.

Here’s what that money could pay for instead:

  • Free Public College: providing tuition free college to every American has an estimated price tag of $75 billion per year.

  • End Homelessness: A national report by HUD estimates that ending homelessness in the United States would cost $20 billion per year.

  • Ending Hunger: 1 in 5 American children are food insecure. For $25 billion per year, we could end hunger in America entirely. Meanwhile, its estimated hunger related illness costs the United States $160 per year. So in this case, its a net saving of over $100 billion per year.

  • Cancel the 2025 Budget Cuts: The Big Beautiful Budget cut 1 trillion from medicaid and medicare over the next decade, as well as 300 billion over 10 years for SNAP funding. That money could be replaced — and even increased.

Hell, Trump could even still get his $1 billion for his stupid White House ballroom.

We deserve better. The fact is, America has the money to invest in Americans. Anytime someone tells you otherwise, point out these numbers. Or hell, drop this article in their dms.
