let’s talk about it…
Writing suffocate felt so bizarre because the initial prompts were ‘cold’ and ‘deep’ that triggered the idea ‘deep freezer’. “Why in the hell would I use deep freezer as a prompt?” LMAO! Of course, this sparked a chain of thoughts about people being in freezers, yes, in a cryptic way. Maybe I’ve watched too many movies, crime stories or news about unfortunate situations of loved ones being found in freezers…but I took that idea and ran with it.
From a mental and emotional perspective, this made sense. I thought about how we keep ourselves confined in our minds. I’ve been here too many times. No one imprisoned me, I put myself there. If/When I get out is up to me.
my (un)doing is about recognizing when misfortune is lurking around the corner and recovering. Maybe our mishaps don’t lead to a devastating downfall. Signs will be ignored or overlooked and we want someone else to carry the blame and shame. Through the chaos, we accept our accountability and rebuild anyway. We have to.
