Hello hello! I can’t believe how fast October has flown by! (Do I say that every time? I have a not strong grip on this year!)
NANOWRIMO
For those of you who are getting ready for NaNoWriMo next month, here is the word count tracker I designed. Each book counts as 1000 words, so you can keep track of your progress as you write!
I’ve been using a similar one I drew into a bullet journal for tracking my progress on SCOT AND BOTHERED and listen, sometimes, it’s the only thing motivating me to get the words on the page. I swear by word count trackers for flash drafting!
I’ve filled my editing spots for Outline Reviews for the end of the month, but still have one opening at the beginning of December for a Story Map Edit (a visual representation of your book that tracks the plot, character development, and the romance arc to show plotting, pacing, and characterization gaps).
BOULDER BOOKSTORE LAUNCH PARTY
On to book news!! I have an official launch party scheduled at Boulder Bookstore on March 5th at 6:30 for KILT TRIP! If you’re local, I’d love to see you there! I’ll have more details as we get closer, but I can’t even explain how excited I am. I have been going to Boulder Bookstore since I was kid when my brother and I would curl up in the kids section with giant stuffies and read books while my mom perused the shelves. It’s a literal dream to hold my book launch here. I can’t wait!
WIN A COPY OF KILT TRIP
My publisher is hosting a giveaway of 3 print copies of KILT TRIP over on GoodReads through Saturday. It’s open to US and Canada. So if you were hoping to snag a physical copy of KILT TRIP (I can assure you, the plaid spine is more than worth it), head on over to GoodReads and enter to win!
ARCs (Early copies of KILT TRIP)
I know you’ve all been impatiently waiting for an unboxing video of KILT TRIP books. I KNOW I HAVE. But like Addie’s suitcase, Frank, who takes an impromptu side-trip without her permission, so have my ARCs!! They took a detour to San Diego to visit my fabulous agent and I can now confirm that slow burn is one of my least favorite tropes. The way I have been stalking my friendly neighborhood postal worker, y’all.
Once the books arrive in (snowy?!) Colorado, I will be doing a giveaway for one lucky newsletter subscriber, so stay tuned!!
Alex
