Hello my lovelies!

It is suddenly November 19th, which is mannny days late for sharing my NaNoWriMo word count tracker, but a few of you have pointed out my negligence and I have finally gotten my act together!

The good news is that if you’ve been writing this month, you can color in sooo many little books on the shelf to show your progress!!

There are 50 books on here, so if you’re doing a traditional NaNo, you can fill in one book for every 1000 words you write! This is the hard part of the month, in my experience, so maybe this gives you the little dopamine boost you need to keep going!

And if you’re stuck on your draft and want to talk it though, I still have some availability on my calendar for Story Clarity Calls (one hour brainstorming sessions to get you unstuck) next week!

I’m working on a secret something that’s still a bit too new to talk about. Like if we look directly at it, it might run away and never come back. But, I’ve been on a writing hiatus for a long time and it feels really good to be diving into a story (and back to Edinburgh!) again.

I was searching for something on my computer the other day and stumbled upon a deleted scene from KILT TRIP with Addie and our girl Elyse at the Edinburgh Christmas market. I’ll send it out after Thanksgiving (I’m not quite ready for Christmas! Holiday mugs are in. Christmas music, not yet!!). It’s really fun returning to that world, even in a small way, and also remembering how much that story evolved over so many revisions.

When I lived in Edinburgh, the Christmas market was one of my very favorite things, so I love this little memory lane with Addie and Elyse. Also, next year in Edinburgh for Christmas and Hogmanay? Who’s in?

I hope you all have a lovely Thanksgiving. I’m so grateful for you!

Hugs & kilts,

Alex
