I hope you’ve enjoyed all the recipes I’ve been cranking out this summer. I’ve been really hard at work trying to test them a few times each to ensure they’re near perfect and typo-less for you all to enjoy. And now that I’ve fulfilled my duties of making lovely recipes, I’m going to co-opt this email list to talk about some personal life updates!
This month is my birthday, so to celebrate I’m hosting a cake swap at Kitsby Studios on August 23rd. If you live in NYC please come by next week! Tickets are available on Pie, and they’re around $7. We’ll have fun decor, photo ops, drinks, salty snacks, goodie bags, and even a fun giveaway prize. I’ve put a lot of work into planning this, so I hope you’re able to make it. All you have to do is sign up and bring a cake next weekend!
I don’t know how much you all read my blurbs at the beginning of recipes, but I’ve recently started plugging my website alchenny.com because I finally finished building it, and have put a few of my most popular recipes on the website already.
It is not an exhaustive list of everything I’ve made because writing out blog recipes takes a very long time. In order for a recipe to be performant on a blog you are required to write a lot of wax prose at the beginning of a recipe. Like me, you probably never read that, but it is necessary to maintain the quality of the blog for advertisers and to allow new people to discover your recipes through search engines.
But when I do muster up the courage to become a writer and a poet, you can find extra recipes without a paywall on my website!
My policy on Substack is subscribers will always be sent a copy of the recipe for free if you subscribe to my mailing list with no ads and no strings attached. Other than the email copies the latest recipe will also be free! I’m really trying to strike a balance between the meta of food blogging so thank you for your patience 🙏
In celebration of turning 24, I’m running a Substack sale and a sale on my aprons! New Substack subscriptions will be 24% off as well as my croissant apron on my website.
Also… peep this mango sago cheesecake recipe I made. It’s been an intrusive thought of mine for a while, so I’m glad I could make this many slices for a supper club. I uploaded a version to my website too :^)
Last thing I’ll say is YouTube is in the works again! YouTube is actually and insane beast to break into. I spent over 20 hours last week filming videos, which I am certainly not used to, but hopefully you will enjoy the growing pains and it will be all worth it in the end!
