You may have felt small changes lately: your cycle is shifting, sleep is disrupted, your mood feels less steady, or your body just seems different.
These subtle signs often mark the beginning of perimenopause, the early part of the menopause journey.
If you’re here, welcome. You’re not imagining it, and you don’t have to walk this path alone.
There’s a way to begin with gentleness, curiosity, and self-trust.
In the UK, menopause is a shared experience — happening quietly to millions of women right now.
Around 13 million women are peri- or post-menopausal — about one in three of the female population.
The average age of menopause is 51 years, though many notice changes much earlier.
About 1 in 100 women experience early menopause (before 40).
Nearly 1.5 million women in the UK live with common menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes and night sweats.
It’s estimated that menopause symptoms contribute to around 14 million working days lost per year in the UK.
These numbers aren’t meant to overwhelm — they remind us that you are not alone.
This is a natural, universal process — one that deserves to be met with understanding, not fear.
Track what’s happening — not to fix it, but to witness it.
Notice your cycle, sleep, moods, body temperature, energy, and emotions.
Patterns tell a story, and awareness brings calm.
Menopause unfolds in three stages — perimenopause (the transition), menopause (12 months after your last period), and postmenopause (what follows).
Educate yourself in small doses. Reliable information is power, but you don’t need to absorb it all at once.
Begin simple, soothing habits that help you feel grounded:
🕯 Prioritise rest and cooler sleep environments
🌿 Move your body in enjoyable ways
💧 Stay hydrated and steady your caffeine/alcohol intake
💨 Practise breathwork or meditation for hot flushes or anxiety
💖 Speak kindly to yourself — your body is evolving, not betraying you
HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) can be life-changing for many women, but it’s just one of several paths.
Others include nutrition, stress regulation, acupuncture, herbal and complementary therapies, body-based work, and mindset transformation.
The right path is the one that honours your body and your beliefs.
This transition is more than physical — it’s emotional, spiritual, and communal.
A supportive circle might include a friend who listens, a compassionate clinician, a coach or guide, or a small online group.
You don’t need a crowd — you need presence, empathy, and understanding.
When you start to notice these changes, it’s easy to feel uncertain or alone.
That’s exactly why I created a gentle, accessible space for women like you who are just beginning to navigate this new season.
