CREATION DOESN'T COMPROMISE

Creation doesn’t compromise. It meets itself. Duality, meeting, merging, unifying to reveal God, Source, Consciousness.

Today, my body was feeling tired, but my standard is to go to the gym. My standard is to increase my strength, my vitality. My standard and my schedule today were to do a full-body workout.

But I don’t force, and I don’t perform. Nor do I compromise.

The definition of compromise is “a settlement of a dispute or difference reached when each side makes concessions—giving up some of their original demands or desires to find a mutually agreeable middle ground.”

Concession. Giving up some of their original desires. To me, compromise feels like giving away a standard, a value, a desire in order to meet yourself or someone else in what is perceived as “the middle.”

But when you learn to meet yourself in the conflict, the conflict reveals the very purpose of its presence.

So instead of some idea of compromise, I meet myself. I feel and listen. I meet my standards, my values, my desires, and my intentions that come from my truth, and I meet where my body is here today. And I locate the point where those two meet, the point of love, communion.

So today, that looked like still working out, still doing full body, still doing my reps to failure, to the point at which my muscles can go no longer. But choosing to only do three sets instead of four. And giving my body more food and less stress from fasting, even though I normally fast five days a week.

To meet yourself is to breathe into the moment without expectation, without attachment, being fully available to both sides of the conversation, both sides of the exchange. The dualistic expression of creation.

My standard, my desire, was to work out, to do full body today, to stay in my self-loving routine, to not allow myself to slide simply because I’m tired. And the other side of that conversation is my body is tired, my body needs something. So the question is always, what is loving to self in this moment? What is serving my body in this moment while simultaneously serving my desires, my standards, my intentions?

You will find a point where they overlap every single time, if you can let go of what it looks like. This is the revelation that conflict is always offering us.

At the beginning of the workout, I felt I could push. I had to listen to the subtle message reminding me to soften slightly. By the end, I was glad I had, because my body was very tired.

It’s easy for the mind to intervene. We have to learn to listen, truly, truly listen to that wisdom, and learn to let go. If I had held myself to an expectation, I could have pushed myself too far. Or if I had let go completely and not gone to the gym, that also would not have been loving to self.

That point where they meet, where the standard and the body find each other, that is the point of love. That is communion.

Communion is where all of creation occurs. Bliss, life, joy, and ultimately ecstasy. The rapture of full unification, the One.
