Time recently named the architects of AI as the people of the year and they are absolutely correct. Since ChatGPT was released in 2022, 2025 was the year where AI where truly became mainstream. Just about everyone in my life and career now uses AI and this would have been unheard of in previous years when average people had no idea about using AI and only big techies followed everything AI.
People generally know about all the different companies and vibe coding now thanks to an influx of commercials and daily uses. If you’re a professional in pretty much any job it’s now a must have to do things like send emails, create websites and apps, write, and make presentations.
Whenever I go on Twitter now nearly every post is about vibe coding the next great killer app and genius uses for AI in your life. Every day there will be posts of people coding multiple apps at once in Cursor, saying learning everything AI is a must if you want to succeed in life, and how it’s the next gold rush.
2025 saw billions of dollars continue to be invested in AI datacenters and companies, incredible new models like Gemini 3, government embracing AI, the word slop being named Merriam-Webster’s word of the year, Veo and Sora making better and better videos that look real, and commercials that use AI practically every commercial break.
2026 will be defined by the job losses AI continues to bring, whether AGI is actually possible, how much it will improve, and if data centers will finally stop raising electricity prices,
People like Sam Altman, Jensen Huang, Elon Musk, and others will add hundreds of billions of dollars to their net worths and we will see the first trillionaire in the next several years because of AI.
In my life I’m now able to create websites and apps in minutes and not knowing how to code no longer stops me from doing them entirely.
