It's Ramadan (and my birthday)!

As I have written before, I support a family of 6, the Al-Aqras in Deir Al-Balah, Gaza, and have done so since September 2024. These efforts have grown into a collective one. A small group of us have formed a collective to support a small group of families. each month we raise what we can via a rotating paypal link and split the proceeds among the recipients. In my last appeal, I asked you to add a monetary subscription to my SubStack so that I can continue to help support Iman, Ibrahim and their kids, and I was very happy that 3 people did that. This means that, in addition to those of who had already generously subscribed, I “earn” $217 AUD a month all of which goes straight to the fundraiser. However given the needs on the ground and the fact that, with Israel and the US’s onslaught on Iran, prices have only increased and things have become more perilous, this is far from sufficient.

This month, our collective launched another Auction for Ramadan on Instagram after the successful one we ran at Christmas. Eid falls on March 18, so please visit @tzedekcollective or @alanalentinwriter on Instagram to check it out. We have some really cool and quirky items for auction!
