You're using Neon DB or Supabase. You've got two choices:
- pg_cron: Database-level job scheduler
- pg-boss: Application-level solution
pg_cron runs faster. But maintaining is harder since it lives in your database. pg-boss is easier to maintain.
So which one should you pick?
Are you comfortable with databases? Can you pull your app off-platform and build with Claude Code or Cursor?
Go with pg_cron
But if you're building mostly with AI agents and databases still feel scary?
Pick pg-boss.
It's simpler to maintain. Plus, AI can see what you're doing, unlike business logic buried in your database.
