Pyre is the pyrean homeworld in Triple Strike, and while the first two books don’t go into much detail about it, Pyre will feature more heavily in later books, so I’m using this as an excuse to talk about the planet itself!
There are a lot of languages in Triple Strike, and in hindsight, I guess I should have had some sort of “universal translator” technology instead of making all the main characters speak at least 3 languages proficiently-to-fluently, but:
The ma’jenn will play an increasingly large role from Triple Strike book 3 onward, which is very exciting for me. I love the ma’jenn quite a bit, and while pyreans may look like space elves, they’re more “space orcs” in practice. Meanwhile, ma’jenn are unquestionably “space elves” in terms of society and technology…but also they’re still furries. Who doesn’t love space furries?
While Amazon will remain (for now) the only place to purchase a physical copy of Triple Strike, I’ve decided to add itch.io as one of the vendors. This will allow the ebook to be purchased directly from the Akula Games webpage, as well as provide a place to get a DRM-free version of the ebook (in .epub format).

I got distracted this past year working on a light novel. “Light novels” are a style of novel popular in Japan that are essentially short (e.g. ~50k words), usually illustrated, and often in a series. They tend to lend themselves well to television (i.e. anime), and many fall in famous (infamous?) genres (yes, I’m looking at you isekai).
Akula Games has been on hiatus for the past few years, both in terms of contracting and working on personal development, but I’m about ready to get back into personal projects (but not contracted work)! Several project announcements are coming soon, and this webpage will slowly be evolving out of its current “professional” projection of the company and more into a vehicle for my personal projects…
