Here’s a quick reminder of where you can find me over the next few months:

CYSTM? Live is an interactive event where the audience competes to solve a “mini-murder mystery”, specially written by me for bookstores and festivals, based on characters and locations from the book.

Audiences are absolutely loving it. It’s loads of fun, so do come along if you’re anywhere near the remaining dates:

  • July 1: Waterstones Chelmsford, 6.30pm – Tickets

  • July 2: Waterstones Fareham Whiteley, 6pm – Tickets

  • July 7: Waterstones Edinburgh West End, 7pm – Tickets

  • July 8: Waterstones Newcastle, 7pm – Tickets

  • July 25: Criminally Good Books, York, 7pm – Tickets

If you’re a bookseller or festival organiser who would like me to host CYSTM? Live, contact Emma Fairey at Transworld.

In July I’ll be talking Can You Solve the Murder? and other books with unusual structures at the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate.

This is my first year appearing as a panelist at the festival, and what a panel it’s going to be – alongside me will be Janice Hallett, Cara Hunter, and John Finnemore, and it’s chaired by the Rev Richard Coles. Now that’s a line-up!

“It’s the Way You Tell ’Em” is on Sunday 20 July @ 10.30am. Details and tickets:

On Sat 16 August @ 12 noon I’m appearing at Redditch Library, to talk about my work and answer questions, as part one of a two-part bill – at 2pm it’s Ben Aaronovitch’s turn, talking about his latest Rivers of London book. Both events are free.

Longtime readers may know that I’m a Birmingham-born lad, and went to school in Redditch after my family moved there when I was young. So this is a bit of a homecoming, and should be fun!

Tickets:

I’m hosting CYSTM? Live again as part of the East Riding Libraries Festival of Words at Beverley Library, Saturday 27 Sep @ 6.30pm.

Tickets aren’t available yet, but mark your calendars:

Another CYSTM? Live, this time at Oundle Bowling Club, Friday 3 October @ 7.45pm as part of the ongoing Authors in Oundle strand.

Tickets:

If you missed my livestream on YouTube at Jordan Sorcery, where we read through the start of Can You Solve the Murder? with a live audience, you can now watch it here:
