It’s been a minute since my last newsletter. Summer was a mix of busy and slow, and I decided to step back for a while and give myself some freedom and grace instead of feeling like I had to be “on” all the time. I know a lot of us, writers or not, feel that constant pressure to show up online, and it can get heavy. Hitting pause was the best choice I could’ve made, and I feel so much better for it.
September always feels like a fresh start. Even though I’ve been out of school for ages (and don’t have kids to send back), that “new year” energy still kicks in, and this year, I’m running with it.

On the writing front, my latest novel just went out on submission to editors last week. It’s an exciting (and nerve-wracking) stage that’s equal parts refreshing my inbox and finding distractions. At the same time, I’ve fully stepped into my freelance role as a story analyst, and I’m loving it. Every day I get to work with writers across different mediums, helping them shape and strengthen their stories.
This fall, I’ll also be teaching a handful of workshops and courses, all online and open worldwide! I’ll share the details below. I’m so looking forward to connecting with writers and passing along the kind of insights I wish I’d had starting out (and honestly, still need sometimes).

This is slow burn done right—the tension, the build, the spice! The story follows a princess in love with her assassin best friend, even though she’s destined to marry the warrior king of a neighboring kingdom… only to discover the assassin has been contracted to kill them both. It’s the perfect “why choose” romantasy—and best of all, it doesn’t end on a cliffhanger (which, let’s be honest, I both love and hate).

I was lucky enough to get an arc of this story and while I’m only a few chapters in I am loving it. With Tarot card magic, immortals, and a deadly college. This book will be out in January 13, 2026.
Anticipated Read:
Bitten - Jordan Stephanie Gray
Bitten will be released on September 30, 2025 and it sounds amazing! Crescent City meets Fourth Wing in this fast-paced and romantic debut, in which a teenage girl must survive ruthless werewolves, a glittering court, and deadly politics to exact revenge on the monsters who destroyed her.
