The AI race is changing fast.

OpenAI has already launched the GPT-5.6 family, including Sol, Terra and Luna.
But the more exciting story is happening outside ChatGPT.
OpenAI is working with former Apple design chief Jony Ive on its first consumer AI hardware product.
The final design has not been officially revealed yet, but reports suggest it could be a small, screen-free AI companion that uses voice, cameras and sensors.
In simple words: OpenAI may be trying to build an entirely new way of using AI without depending on phones and apps.
xAI has launched Grok Bot, and this is more than another chatbot feature.
Grok Bot works more like an AI teammate.
You can give it a job, and it can use websites, tools and cloud computers to complete multi-step tasks.
Multiple Grok Bots can even work together.
Imagine telling AI:
“Research this topic, prepare the report and update my spreadsheet.”
Instead of explaining how to do it, the AI tries to do the work itself.
xAI also launched Grok 4.6, with stronger capabilities for coding, research and long-running AI tasks.
Google has confirmed that Gemini 4 is under development.
The company says it has started its most ambitious pre-training run yet for the next generation of Gemini.
There is no official release date yet, but this will be one of the biggest AI launches to watch.
Google is also teaching Gemini to use computers.
That means future Gemini agents may be able to open software, click buttons, enter information and complete tasks with less human help.

Microsoft has depended heavily on OpenAI models for Copilot.
But that is starting to change.
Microsoft is now developing its own MAI model family, including models for reasoning, coding, voice and transcription.
One important release is MAI-Thinking-1, Microsoft’s own reasoning model.
This could give Microsoft more control over the future of Copilot across Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft products.

Anthropic has introduced Claude Sonnet 5 and Claude Opus 5.
The bigger goal is not simply better answers.
Anthropic wants Claude to handle longer and more complicated jobs independently.
That could mean researching information, analysing documents, writing code, preparing reports and using different tools without needing constant instructions.
Claude is slowly moving from AI assistant to AI worker.
Meta is expanding beyond Llama with its Muse AI models.
Muse is being developed for reasoning, coding, tool use, computer use and multimodal tasks.
Meta has also introduced AI models for images and video.
This points towards a future where one AI system may be able to research an idea, write the content, generate images and create videos as part of the same workflow.
Apple is finally turning Siri into something much more powerful.
The new Siri AI is designed to understand your personal context, what is on your screen and information across supported apps.
Instead of only asking Siri to set an alarm, users may eventually be able to ask things like:
“Find the email about my flight and tell me when I should leave for the airport.”
Apple plans to bring the new Siri experience to users through supported devices and languages.
There is one clear pattern across all these companies.
