Have you ever stopped to think about how incredibly lucky we are?

Every single year, without fail, Allah blesses us with mawasim of khayr, special, sacred seasons that are completely filled with goodness, light, and mercy. He does not leave us to navigate the hardships of this life empty-handed. Instead, He continuously gifts us these divine windows of opportunity. He gives us the beauty of Ramadan of Laylatul Qadr, He gives us the unmatched ten days of Dhul Hijjah, and He gives us the majestic day of Arafah.

To be alive, healthy, and aware as another season of goodness begins is a profound privilege. It means Allah has looked at us and decided we deserve another chance to heal, to return, and to be forgiven.

These are the golden days of decreasing our sins and increasing our ‘Ibadaat (acts of worship). They are a grand spiritual reset button. No matter how heavy your burden, no matter how many mistakes you have made over the past year, these days are designed to wash them all away.

The Answer to a Quiet Prayer

And yet, despite how lucky we are to witness this time, many of us are entering it feeling completely overwhelmed.

Every single one of us has sat in the dark, looked at our lives, and whispered to the silence: “Just give me a sign. Show me a path. Prove to me that I am seen, and that things can change.”

We look for signs because we are tired. We are tired of the quiet battles we fight in our own minds, tired of carrying the stress of the world, and tired of feeling like we are constantly falling short. We want to know that despite our flaws, we are still loved by the One who made us.

If you have been waiting for your sign, stop looking at the horizon and look at the calendar. The arrival of these ten days is the ultimate answer to that quiet prayer.

The Prophet ﷺ told us that there are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to God than these ten days. Think about that. Walking to the mosque, giving a single dollar in charity, smiling at your family, or whispering a prayer in the middle of the night—these simple actions carry more weight right now than at any other time of the year. The mercy is decentralized; it is pouring down on the plains of Arafah, but it is also pooling right here in your room.

Come Exactly as You Are

We often make the mistake of thinking we need to be perfect before we can take advantage of these mawasim of khayr. We think, “I am too sinful. My heart is too distracted. I will wait until I am a better Muslim to really try.”

But these seasons of goodness were made exactly for the broken, the tired, and the imperfect.

You do not need to have your life completely organized to stand before Allah right now. Bring your cracks. Bring your exhaustion. Bring the heavy weight of the sins you desperately want to leave behind.

DAY 1–8 MISSION:

• Pray every Salah on time (no delays)

• Add 5 minutes of daily Qur’an

• Make Tawbah (repentance) constantly

• Remove one recurring sin

• Give a little charity daily ($1 counts)

• Make du’a LIKE someone drowning

THE DHIKR THAT SHOULD FILL YOUR LIFE:

• SubhanAllah

• Alhamdulillah

• Allahu Akbar

• La ilaha illa Allah

The Companions used to raise their voices with Takbeer in markets and roads. Revive the sunnah: “Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, la ilaha illa Allah...”

Day 9: Yawmul ‘Arafah.

The Prophet ﷺ said fasting it expiates the sins of the previous year and the coming year. Two years of sins erased for one day of hunger. Think about the sheer mercy of that math.

DAY OF ‘ARAFAH CHECKLIST:

• Fast the day

• Guard your eyes and tongue

DAY 10:

Eid is not just outfits and food. It is the legacy of Ibrahim (AS): complete submission even when it hurts.

Look at your life today and ask yourself honestly: “What am I refusing to surrender to Allah?”

One sincere Dhul Hijjah can change the trajectory of your entire life. A single Du’a can alter your destiny. A single Tawbah can erase decades of mistakes. Never underestimate what the Lord of the Worlds can do in 10 days.

You asked Allah for a sign to start over. This is it
