Missed Black Friday? Here Are a Few Last-Minute AI Deals

In case you were busy with Thanksgiving and missed some Black Friday deals, AppSumo is still running some specials for Plus members with an extra 10% discount on top of the Plus discount (which ends up effectively being 19% off). The Black Friday deals will end on December 6. Some of the deals may still be around afterwards without the coupon, but some will be gone forever…here are a few to check out…

Remo claims this is the last time they’ll be on AppSumo. I LOVE REMO! It is amazing! Remo is a virtual video conference host with the ability to seat people in a space that has chairs and tables. This seems to be a somewhat mature company and hopefully not inclined to go out of business, but their top lifetime deal (LTD) on AppSumo is not cheap. I got Tier 3 last time when it was a little less, and they’ve added a very pricey Tier 4 that adds AI matching (of people in the virtual room, I guess) as well as a permanent room. I’d love to get it, but another $600 is like, ouch…but get this if you can!

Afforai also claims they won’t be coming back to AppSumo after this Black Friday run. They are a research/citation/document solution that has some elements of Perplexity AI and Zoetero with additional features. It’s helpful in particular if you need to cite papers for grad school but can also be used for other research. I’ll write a better review of it later - in brief, I got Tier 2 and I’m quite happy with it and would do Tier 3 except it’s a bit of a high cost compared to most similar offerings. This one I think has a good chance of surviving. Afforai seems to have established some partnerships with universities and thus may have some longevity. Unfortunately, their terrible name makes me think of some sort of coupon club as opposed to a research tool.

ReelCraft is the most fun out of the bunch but likely the one that has the highest chance of going under. This is an app where you can make AI generated animation videos. But they already ticked off some folks on AppSumo for increasing the credit usage needed for some tasks after a past AppSumo offering (granted, video production takes a lot of juice). They also have a crazy high-priced top tier. However, AI video animation apps seem to be rare finds on AppSumo for some reason. So if you are looking for one, this may be the best (or only) in a way. At any rate, I’m still testing ReelCraft out so can’t say much yet, except, it looks decent but will not replace Hollywood any time soon. More on this one later.
