May is here and it looks like summer too! At least in Copenhagen the weather has turned to summer-warm, although a bit rainy. Let’s hope we’ll get some more sunny days soon!
Last month, I visited Kaunas, Lithuania, to teach a workshop about comics. I talked a bit about how I did my comic for the anthology š! #57 'Mythbústers', and after that we did some inspiration zines. The workshop was part of the Mythbústers exhibition and was arranged by Kuš comics and Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania. I had so much fun! The city is beautiful and so interesting, I hope I’ll get a chance to visit it again soon.
Copenhagen Comics is soon here, that is on 23rd to 24th of May! You’ll find me at the Kulkælderen table. We’ll be selling our brand new Sci-fi anthology, printed in riso-print!
I’ve also made a comic to the wonderful Fiesta magazine’s newest publication. It’s a little story of a skeleton-man doing their thing hygge-ing.
I made this little self-portrait using oil pastels and coloured pencils, something I haven’t really done before. I bought a box of oil pastels about twenty years ago and never really used them, couldn’t really make them work for me. But when I drew this, I had so much fun! I’m hoping I will have time soon to try them out a bit more.
In March, I had a chance to visit Lausanne in Switzerland, and managed to go see one of the local libraries, Bibliothéque Chauderon. I made a short comic about it, you can read it in Find Me at the Library.
When I was in Kaunas, I visited the museum of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, a Lithuanian composer and painter. I completely fell in love with his work, they were so beautiful and eery. Highly recommend to check out his work!
Hope to see you at Copenhagen Comics!
