Whether synthetic, zoonotic, or accidental, the spectrum of biological risk is expanding—rapidly. The pandemic proved what many of us in national security already knew: biosecurity is not a luxury; it is a strategic imperative.
This briefing outlines the most pressing future threats in biodefense and offers a roadmap based on frameworks I helped develop and deliver across DOD, IC, USDA, HHS, and DHS. These are the recommendations I would present today in a classified setting—minus the redactions.
