I’ve felt no deeper grief and despair than when I left my parents. And yet there was no doubt in my mind it was the right thing to do.

I chose peace, but it was the most difficult choice I ever had to make. The guilt was unbearable.

If you’re an estranged parent reading this, I just wanted you to know what it’s like on the other side.
