1. Sophie Lambert of C+W
Sophie works very closely editorially with authors and loves the process of helping guide a book from a kernel of an idea through to publication itself. A shared vision and ambition is important to her, so she can truly add value to the author/ agent relationship.
So, what is Sophie is looking for? It’s all about the writing! She loves fiction that is voice driven and introduces readers to different perspectives and singular narrators, as well as beautifully written literary fiction that have a strong sense of place, and commercial crime and thrillers that keep the reader on the edge of their seats and continually surprise and excite her.
Where nonfiction is concerned Sophie is drawn to narrative nonfiction that straddles genre and is especially interested in nature writing, travel, history, anthropology, art and the environment. She represents a lot of memoir, as well as books by experts in their field and specialists. She would love to find a gorgeous, all-consuming love story, or a food writer who matches Bill Burford or Anthony Bourdain. Essentially, she’s looking for an exquisite writer to take her by the hand and show her a different way to see the world, whether that’s through fiction or nonfiction.

2. Travis Pennington of The Knight Agency, Inc.
Travis is looking for young adult and middle grade fiction, particularly high-concept stories with a strong voice, as well as mysteries, psychological thrillers, and horror that are equally compelling. He is also interested in sci-fi grounded in reality and Christian fiction across all genres, from thrillers and contemporary to historical romance.
In nonfiction, Travis is drawn to inspirational memoirs and general Christian nonfiction that uplift and inspire readers. He seeks stories that resonate deeply and offer meaningful perspectives on faith and personal growth.

3. Thais Afonso of Jennifer Azantian Literary Agency
Thais represents adult and young adult fiction, with a strong focus on diverse, intersectional, and Global South voices. She is particularly eager to champion Queer, BIPOC, disabled, working-class, and Palestinian authors, and is committed to putting Global South stories at the forefront.
In adult fiction, she is seeking fantasy, sci-fi, horror, contemporary romance, and suspense/thrillers. She is especially interested in steamy romantasy, anti-colonial epics, folklore-inspired fantasy, and speculative sci-fi with anti-capitalist themes. She loves psychological horror, gothic horror, and space horror, as well as high-stakes thrillers with no law enforcement protagonists.
In YA, she is open to fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and speculative mystery/thrillers, with a strong focus on queer and BIPOC voices. She is particularly hungry for horror, from supernatural thrillers to dark, atmospheric scares. She also seeks crossover YA/NA romantasy with unique worldbuilding and fresh takes on beloved tropes.
