1. Marlene Stringer of Stringer Literary Agency
Marlene is looking for book club fiction that balances commercial and literary appeal, historical fiction, women’s fiction in both contemporary and historical settings. She is interested in crime fiction, thrillers and mysteries of all types, suspense, along with psychological horror and magical realism. She also represents romance across subgenres, excluding erotica, and is open to older YA, both fantasy and contemporary.

2. Bridget Smith of JABberwocky Literary Agency
Bridget is looking for a wide range of young adult fiction, SFF, literary fiction, and historical fiction.
Bridget is newly open to adult romantic comedies. She seeks warm, funny, voice-driven stories that are layered with big emotions and have high-concept premises, appealing to a mainstream or crossover audience. While rom-coms are of interest, she is not the best fit for genre romance.

3. Alexandra Levick of Writers House
Alexandra is committed to working with writers from diverse backgrounds and is looking to put forth a list of outstanding creators who will be able to provide windows, mirrors, and sliding glass doors into all kinds of experiences. She’s looking for own-voice stories about historically underrepresented identities and cultures.
No matter the genre or age-range, Alexandra craves a distinctive voice and strong thematic point behind the work. She loves character-driven stories that revolve around BIG topics (discussing things like mortality or grief in a new and hopefully somewhat uplifting way is always an instant lightbulb!).
She’s currently looking for picture book author-illustrators, picture book illustrators (who hope to write one day!), a wide range of middle grade and YA, and more speculative-leaning or genre-bent adult works (romance, horror, fantasy).

Courtney is primarily looking for authors and illustrators of picture books, middle grade, and graphic novels. She is open to select young adult and adult projects. She’s actively seeking stories that reflect diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences, as well as underrepresented voices and perspectives.

5. Chelsea Eberly of Folio Literary Management
Chelsea represents graphic novelists, illustrators of picture books, and authors who write middle grade, young adult, crossover new adult, and select adult novels. As an editorial agent, she loves working closely with clients to ensure their work stands out in a crowded market.
She is always on the lookout for new talent. Writers should send her high-concept hooks and high-stakes plots, gorgeous and vivid illustrations, unique voices, speculative fiction, sweeping fantasy, unforgettable settings, tight timelines, and romance.

She is drawn to stories with a distinct voice, unexpected wit, aggressive pacing, punchy and/or emotionally resonant endings.
