Jenny is currently looking for clients she can co-rep with her colleague James Mustelier. They are looking for all kinds of high concept genre fiction for adults and young adults: horror, fantasy, suspense/thriller, romantasy and romance. Of particular interest are authors who have successfully been working in the indie space and are now looking to transition into traditional or hybrid publishing. Additionally, they welcome submissions from BIPOC authors.
In general, Jenny tends to prefer plot-driven books to character-driven ones and pacing is very important to her. She also loves novels — for adults or young adults — that have an element of magic or fantasy to them or that take the reader into a world that is new to them, whether real or imaginary. And while she loves books to be dark and weird in terms of content, she finds that she’s more drawn to traditional, rather than experimental, methods of structure and storytelling.
Jenny is not the right fit for books with overtly political or extremely complicated plotlines.

Patrice is always looking for high-concept YA (this includes titles that crossover to adult) & MG projects with an amazing hook.
Some things she would especially love to see: Shakespeare-inspired novels, heist/con artist novels, YA novels set in/around the 1920s, literary YA novels & novels in verse, retellings in general, science fiction, graphic novels, MG fantasy and sci-fi, crossover YA, books inspired by “the classics,” nonfiction from a POC/queer perspective, and dark genres and humor.

Jennifer is only seeking adult fiction at this time. She is also not the best fit for a fantasy novel with a teenage protagonist, or any novel with a child narrator.
Jennifer has been a reader of fanfiction for a long time, so she is very open to hearing from authors who are looking to make the jump from AO3 to the NYT, whether it’s filing the serial numbers or working on original projects.
She is currently looking for mysteries & thrillers, romance, fantasy, sci-fi, literary, and upmarket fiction.
