Petey B. · After this day

This morning I’m sitting in my backyard with a cappuccino, listening to the birds chirp as the sun rises.

I look around do my cross and thank God. I do that many times during the day, it keeps me grounded, and clear minded. Its my gratitude.

I worked hard enough to move my family into a beautiful neighborhood, away from the crime, corruption, and decay that politicians have allowed to spread through so many places. I don’t take any of it for granted.

Should we live in a world like this? No, but our greatest battle will be to stop socialism in America. Thats another topic though…

I want to concentrate on wealth this morning, and while I won’t lie to you and tell you money doesn’t make life easier, its not the true source of happiness.

One of the greatest forms of wealth isn’t a dollar amount.

It’s waking up when you want.

Going to bed when you want.

Doing what you want.

Ironically, even though I have that freedom, I still choose to go to bed early and wake with the sun, just as God intended.

The first thing I NEVER do is look at my phone. That’s blasphemy. Why would I let the world tell me how to think before I’ve even had a chance to think for myself? It’ll ruin the rest of your day before your day has even begun.

Instead, I wash my face, drop to the floor, and knock out sets of push-ups and air squats until I reach one hundred.

Between each set I read something eternal. Scripture. The life of the saint of the day. The writings of the Church Fathers. Something that reminds me what actually matters before the noise of the day begins.

And then, usually, the first person I speak to is my wife.

I make sure I hug her, kiss her, and tell her she looks gorgeous today. Take the time to make her laugh. Like a comedian… It’s what I do..

Many mornings I’ll ask her how the kids were because I don’t interfere with her morning routine. That’s just how we work. She has her rhythm with them. She tells them not to be loud while Daddy is sleeping, and she does her thing in the kitchen.

I respect that.

A house works when everyone knows their role and honors the other person’s. That’s what marriage actually looks like up close. Not a romantic movie. Not a negotiation. Just two people who decided to trust each other completely and never stopped. A true social contract that is backed by faith, loyalty, trust and GOD.

Then it’s a glass of water, my morning supplements, and outside I go.

The sun hits my eyes.

The birds are already singing.

Depending on the day, I’ll either go for a walk or simply sit outside in silence.

I journal. Whatever is sitting in my chest that morning. Gratitude. A goal. Something I need to say out loud to myself before the day takes over.

Sometimes the journaling becomes prayer. The two bleed into each other naturally. I’ll be writing a thought and suddenly I’m talking to God. That connection is one of the most powerful things I’ve found in this life. I always thank Him for allowing me to see the signs. And I always promise, with everything I have, to continue leading a life of righteousness. Every single morning. That promise never gets old.

There’s something powerful about writing it down because one day you get to read who you were and see how far you’ve come, or where you’ve drifted.

Then I write for the world. Like I am right now.

Sometimes it’s about the markets.

Sometimes it’s about God.

Sometimes it’s just random thoughts like these.

But truthfully, I’m writing for my children. Hello kids!!

Long after I’m gone, they’ll know how their father thought. They’ll know what I believed. They’ll understand the habits that shaped my life and, maybe, recognize some of those same patterns inside themselves.

I’m not writing this to flex.

It’s actually the opposite.

We live in one of the greatest periods in human history. We have more opportunity, more knowledge, more comfort, and more freedom than almost any generation before us. This can be debatable, and I did that this morning with a friend over the phone, but alas for me its the greatest time.

There is no reason to be blackpilled.

Yes, politicians are corrupt.

Yes, the system often works against ordinary people.

Yes, evil exists.

But something else is happening too.

People are waking up.

Not all at once. Not loudly. But you can feel it.

Men returning to church. Fathers putting down their phones and picking up their kids. Women rejecting the lies sold to them as liberation. Young people searching for something real because everything fake has left them empty.

The darkness is loud right now because it’s losing. That’s what loud darkness means. So keep the faith, protect your family, build good habits, and thank God for everything He has given you.

I can feel myself beginning to ramble now, I can take this post many ways, which probably means it’s time to stop writing and enjoy the rest of this beautiful morning.

God bless you.
