AfricaBriefing continues to grow as a news outlet designed to provide news and information on Africa to Africans at home and abroad, and the wider global audience. Our content is aimed at professionals - government officials, business leaders and academic institutions among others - ensuring that policymakers, entrepreneurs and academics all benefit from in-depth Africa-focused analysis. As we expand our platform, we’re excited to roll out new features to better serve you, and to give you a glimpse of what’s coming next.
New Features
WhatsApp Channel: We’ve launched a new AfricaBriefing channel on WhatsApp. Subscribers will receive timely news alerts and updates directly on their phones, and will have a fresh way to engage with our team.
Dedicated JUA Youth Page: Our new JUA Youth section spotlights Africa’s young professionals and changemakers. “JUA,” meaning “sun” in Swahili, symbolizes hope and the power of youth to illuminate Africa’s future. This page details the mission and programs of our JUA Youth Initiative which aims to catalyze opportunities for African youth through skills training, entrepreneurship funding and global partnerships. We invite young readers to join the JUA Youth network and stay connected.
Comments & Feedback Portal: We’ve added a feedback portal so you can easily leave comments, suggestions or story ideas on our site. Your input is invaluable as we strive to reflect your interests and questions in our coverage.
Upcoming Features
AI Research & Data Hub: Coming soon - an AI-powered Research Hub to help you navigate our vast archives of news, analysis and data. As a trusted media and research platform, AfricaBriefing already has tens of thousands of articles and reports. Our new hub will use AI to organize these resources, so you can find relevant statistics, reports, and analyses quickly when conducting research or policy work.
Self-Service Ad Portal: We’re building a self-service advertising portal. Soon, entrepreneurs and organizations will be able to run targeted ads on AfricaBriefing directly - a straightforward way to reach professionals and thought-leaders interested in African markets and development.
Networking & Jobs Directory: Later next month we’ll introduce a community directory for networking and opportunities. Think of it as a digital bulletin board where readers can post or find job openings, partner with others on projects, and connect for professional growth across the continent.
We’re proud to keep evolving in ways that meet our readers’ needs. All of these enhancements, from the WhatsApp channel to the JUA Youth page and beyond are rooted in AfricaBriefing’s mission as a credible source of African news and dialogue. As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions. Feel free to drop us a note at our new comments portal or email, and join the conversation on social media.
Thank you for being a valued member of the Africa Briefing community!
Warm regards,
The Africa Briefing Team
