In March this year, Markus Guentner and I were invited to present an Affin Ambient Showcase as part of the Spectaculare Festival in Prague. For us, this was special in several ways. It marked the first dedicated ambient label showcase in Affin’s history and gave us the opportunity to spend a few days in the city together with friends, enjoying an inspiring atmosphere that perfectly complemented the occasion.
Another highlight was Markus’ return to the stage. After nearly a decade without live performances, he presented a new approach to his live set, focusing on atmosphere, gradual development, and spatial depth.
“Untitled Live Excerpt” documents a fragment of that performance. Rather than being conceived as a conventional release, the recording serves as a snapshot of a memorable evening and a small document of a time that will stay with us for years to come.
