Hello all,

This is the day !

After a busy year spent releasing 11 singles and participating in 18 Sample Flip Challenges, 1 compilation & 2 remixes that were releases by labels, I'm happy to announce that my 1st EP is available now, in 2 versions, on Bandcamp !

"Our Own Eclipses" is made of 7 tracks that fall into the abstract HipHop category while having elements of trip hop, glitch-hop, electronica and dub accents. It relies heavily on rich textures & characterful sound design more often found in experimental electronic music, ambient or musique concrete. Most of the samples I used were created by me using a modular system and loopers.

Those tracks tell a story of transformation and transcendence, from isolation to community, from resignation to action, from darkness to light. It's a reflection on everything that happened in the crazy past years we lived through and a reminder that we are the ones who create our own eclipses.

I can't really say it's a concept record because I didn't chose any of this, it just "happened" as I was finishing the record. The voice samples, the track titles, their order, the visuals: all of this kind of came to me to form this cohesive whole.

You can use them in your music, including for commercial purposes. You will find more details at the bottom of the Bandcamp page.

I’ve selected a few of those samples and made a free mini-pack, you can download it here: FREE SAMPLE PACK

I plan to release a "light version" of the EP later, with much shorter tracks. Those platforms reduce artists earnings to the bare minimum so I thought it’s fair game to be reducing what I put on there to the bare minimum: It will be there for discovery purposes but the whole experience will remain on Bandcamp.

I've been very busy with this in the past couple of months so I'll rest a bit while you enjoy this record, before I get back with more music with Kolyder in July.

Don't hesitate to tell me what you think about the record, as it marks the beginning of a new era, a new style (that I tend to call "Chill Noir"), and I plan to keep working in this direction.

Same for the samples: they are not your average drag-and-drop samples, they are meant to be explored and further transformed, and I'm eager to hear what you will do with them. Sharing samples is something I'd like to do again so I'm looking forward for any feedback.

Thanks for being part of this journey.

See you soon !
