Hello,
I hope this newsletter finds you well. Here in the north of France, we just went though 3 weeks of what felt like November rains (but without Axl Rose’s voice, which is a relief) and the sun is finally showing up. So I’ll make this one quick because I guess we all have better things to do than being in front of a screen right now. :)
You most probably have seen this if you follow me on socials (well, not on Twitter since I killed all my accounts there): I hadn’t been able to release the Variation 2 video due to an issue with it. But the audio is still on the EP:

The 3rd series represents a big step forward, on many levels.
The live-looping rig is the same than for the previous videos, except for the new instruments,, but I’m really starting to get a grip for it. As a result, I think those improvs are more mature & flowing.
For the video aspect, I’ve started using Resolume. It’s a very famous VJing software, used a lot in live settings, on many stages around the world. There are plenty of things to explore with it and I’m just scratching the surface. There are A LOT more effects than on EboSuite, the software I’ve used on the previous videos.
I’m still using EboSuite to mix & sync the video and audio because I can do it directly in my audio workstation, in a more precise way.
On this series I’ve experimented with “masks” so I can apply effects only on parts of the video (here it’s inside or outside the circle). It’s not an easy thing to do but it’s worth it as it allows for more balanced/subtle results.
That being said, making this series made me realize I was looking for more organic things, so this is what I will explore in the next series.
In the meantime, enjoy those videos and your summer !
